Build your first RAG knowledge base

From signup to your first AI answer with cited sources — all done in under 5 minutes. No technical background needed; just a few clicks in the browser.

Key takeaways

  • Signup auto-provisions a workspace and a demo knowledge base — ready to use instantly.
  • Drag-and-drop PDF / Word / PPT directly — no manual format conversion required.
  • Every answer ships with cited paragraphs and page numbers — fully traceable.
1

1. Sign up and create a workspace

Visit the signup page, enter your email and password. The account creation flow auto-provisions a workspace plus a sample knowledge base (4 demo docs) so you can try the Playground immediately, without uploading anything.

2

2. Create a knowledge base and upload documents

In the sidebar, click Knowledge Bases → New, then give it a clear name (e.g. "Customer Contracts"). Open the detail page and drag your PDF / Word / PPT / Markdown files into the upload zone. The system auto-parses, chunks, and indexes — status flips to Ready within 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

3. Ask your first question in the Playground

Open the Playground, select the KB you just created, type your question, and submit. The AI answer appears alongside a Sources panel listing the actual paragraphs it drew from — each tagged with relevance score and page number. Click any source to view the original passage and confirm the answer is grounded, not hallucinated.

4. Share with your team or embed into your system

Share your KB with the team: Members → Generate invite link → send it; teammates sign in and access the same KB. Want to embed the AI Q&A into your own system (internal portal, customer service)? Generate an API key on the API Keys page and hand it to your engineers — all AI infrastructure is managed by us.
